New Student Guidelines
Preschool Applicants
Applicants for the three-year-old preschool program should be three years old by December 1 and potty-trained. Applicants for the four/five-year-old preschool program should be four years old by August 1.
Incoming Kindergarten Applicants
Guidelines for the Indiana Department of Education stating that a student residing in Indiana be at least five years of age on or before October 1 in order to enroll in Kindergarten will be followed. There will be no early admission into kindergarten or grade one unless deemed appropriate by the Principal and space permits after all applicants who meet the age guidelines have been placed.
Transfer Applicants - 1st through 7th grade
Students transferring from another school to St. Charles will be considered for admission if class size permits, if the student is in good standing, and if guidelines as established in the school’s Admissions Policy are met.
Transfer Applications
Students in good standing from another school will be considered for transfer admission after the following has been accomplished:
The student may be admitted either on a probationary basis or without restriction under the following conditions: if the Principal determines through the above procedures that the family and student have philosophies, goals, and levels of preparation compatible with the religious mission and educational programs offered by the School Ministry, the student is likely to be successful in a Catholic educational setting, and an opening exists. Prioritization of placement of transfer applicants will occur in the same order and by the same criteria as defined in the Admission Policy.
NOTE: St. Charles School supports the disciplinary decisions of other schools. Therefore, a student expelled from another parochial, private, or public school may not be considered for enrollment until one year after the expulsion date, and then only at the discretion of the Principal in consultation with the Pastor.

- Schedule and take a tour.
- Schedule and complete the STAR Renaissance Assessment in Math and Reading (Grades 2-8th), the STAR Early Literacy Assessment (Grade 1). or the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment.
- Meet with an Administrator
- Complete Application via FACTS.
- Submit Request for Records Form - this will be done through the FACTS application
- Submit Student Reference Form - this will be done through the FACTS application
- Previous records have been supplied to the administration including, if available and applicable, a current report card, standardized testing results, 504 Plan, CSEP, or individual education plan.
- Receive Acceptance Letter
- Complete Enrollment Forms via FACTS.
