Financial Aid
Families that have been accepted to St. Charles School and wish to apply for Financial Aid should complete the "Grant and Aid" Form in FACTS. After signing into your account, the form will be on the right hand side of the page.
This application will give consideration for financial assistance from the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program (formally known as the voucher program), the Indiana Tax Credit Scholarship (SGO) fund, and/or our St. Charles Gift of Education tuition assistance fund. Applications for financial assistance should be made as soon as possible after registrations opens so that decisions on awards coming from the St. Charles Gift of Education fund can be made in April. Applications for the Indiana Choice Scholarship must be made no later than September 1. However, we strongly encourage parents not to wait and to apply as soon as they can. The deadline for SGOs is December 15th.

Indiana Choice Scholarship Program
St. Charles School is a participating school in the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program (commonly referred to as the "voucher" program). Through this program, families who meet certain guidelines (see below) might be eligible for a Choice Scholarship (voucher). To be eligible for participation in the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program, the student must have legal settlement in Indiana, must meet income eligibility guidelines* based off of a family's 2020 federal tax returns, and must satisfy at least one of the following pathways:
- Two Semesters in Public School Pathway--The student was enrolled in a public school (including charter schools) in Indiana for at least two semesters immediately prior to enrollment at the private school. Additionally, the student is a member of a household with an income equal to or below 150% of the amount to qualify for the federal reduced lunch program.
- Sibling Pathway--A sibling of the student has received either a Choice Scholarship ("voucher") or an SGO Scholarship in a preceding school year, and the student is a member of a household with an annual income equal to or below 150% of the amount to qualify for the federal reduced lunch program.
- "F" Public School Pathway--The student would be required to attend a specific public school, based on the student's residence, that has been assigned an "F" grade. This pathway does not require prior attendance at the "F" school. Additionally, the student is a member of a household with an annual income equal to or below 150% of the amount to qualify for the federal reduced lunch program.
- Special Education Pathway--The student has a disability that requires special education. An individualized education plan (IEP) or a service plan has been developed for the student. Additionally, the student is a member of a household with an annual income equal to or below 200% of the amount to qualify for the federal reduced lunch program.
- Continuing Choice Scholarship Student Pathway--The student received a Choice Scholarship ("voucher") in the school year that immediately precedes the school year for which the student is applying for a Choice Scholarship. Additionally, the student is a member of a household with an annual income equal to or below 200% of the amount to qualify for the federal reduced lunch program.
- Previous Choice Scholarship Student Pathway--The student received a Choice Scholarship ("voucher") in a school year that does NOT immediately precede the school year for which the student is applying for a Choice Scholarship. Additionally, the student is a member of a household with an annual income equal to or below 150% of the amount to qualify for the federal reduced lunch program.
- Previous SGO Award Pathway--The student received an SGO Scholarship in any preceding school year from one of the five approved Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs). Additionally, the student is a member of a household with an annual income equal to or below 150% of the amount to qualify for the federal reduced lunch program. Indiana Tax Credit (SGO) Scholarships
In addition to the Choice Scholarship Program, the State of Indiana has established a tax credit scholarship program that can provide scholarship funding through eligible Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs). The residency requirement is the same as those for the Choice Scholarship ("voucher") program, but there is no requirement that the student has attended a public school. Additionally, the family's income can be higher. The deadline for SGOs is December 15th.
St. Charles Gift of Education
Each year through the generosity of alumni, parents, parishioners, students and friends, St. Charles is able to offer tuition assistance to students who might not otherwise be able to afford a Catholic education through the Gift of Education.
